Akai hit it out of the park with the original MPK series and now they have taken 5 years to make sure the mini mk2 does the samw. With 25 mini-size keys Akai know too well that the modern keyboard whether in the studio or even up on stage rarely needs just a decent keybed. The MPK mini also features 8 RGB-illuminated MPC pads, 8 assignable Q-Link controllers, 4-way thumbstick for dynamic pitch and modulation control and switches as well as an amazing software bundle package that includes Ableton Hybrid 3 by AIR Music Tech, SONiVOX Twist 2.0, and Akai Pro MPC Essentials. The MPK mini is small but has it all.
Keys
The MPK mini has 25 mini-size keys that don't take up too much room. Great for coming up with ideas or jamming out simple patterns to gey you started.
Knobs and switches
The MPK mini packs it all and makes enhanced workflow as easy as possible. With 8 assignable Q-Link buttons you are able to step outside the usual parameters of lets say a virtual synth and assign commands like undo, copy, paste etc directly to the MPK controller. 8 assignable knobs so you can choose how you want to interact with your software.
Do you want to ride volumes with knobs? Or make a filter sweep? Now the choice is yours. Three banks expand the number of knobs and switches (up to 24 each).
MPC Pads
That's right actual MPC pads! 8 RGB-illuminated each with 4 banks for 32 pads. They feel the way MPC pads should and are done the way only AKAI can. There is also built in MPC functionality like Classic MPC Swing, MPC Note Repeat, MPC Full Level, and 16 Levels. Get the real deal ol skool feel with some nice modern touches.
Connections
The MPK225 plays well with others and has TS sustain pedal input. The MPK mini is made for the studio as well as the road and only needs USB power so no need for a power adapter
