Further information
In the former GDR the original Triola was produced since the 1960s. It was developed as a children's instrument and is buildt in the current rectangular shape since 1988. Seydel produces the Triola since 1993 - even today reed tuning and assembly of the instruments is hand-work.
In the GDR the Triola was very popular and wide-spread in kindergardens where it was used for early musical education.
Today there is a revival of the Triola especially in England, where the Triola is a successful part of musical lessons at school.
