5 reasons why you need some straplocks on your guitar...
OK all joking aside - its a very real, and potentially very expensive problem. Its happened to a lot of musicians, myself included. When you're stood up playing with a strap and moving around, your strap can work its way of the strap button. The main problem is that you don't realise that its happening - so there's a big crash from out of nowhere, and your guitar is on the floor. In my case, it was a Gibson Les Paul which I'd saved for a couple of years for, which tumbled to the floor while I was adjusting a mic stand, costing several hundreds of pounds to have the neck fixed.
The idea is pretty simple. You take off the existing strap buttons, and fit the newly supplied buttons using the newly supplied screws. Thats the guitar end sorted.Then you secure the supplied lock to your strap, using the washer and the Hex Nut.
Now when you clip the straplock onto the button, the strap cannot come loose from the button. To release the strap, pull the ball on the end of thr straplock away from the guitar (while holding onto the guitar carfeully of course!) and slide the lock off the strap button.
Good instruments don't come cheap as it is, for just a few quid why not protect the investment which you've already made?!
