Since its first heyday in the 50s/60s years, there has been relatively quiet about the good old ribbon microphones. Originallly they were preferred on the basis of eight characteristics as moderating microphone for radio and Fersehen as both moderator and the guest were able to speak from both sides in a single microphone. Meanwhile, these classics are experiencing a real renaissance in technically modern twist. Ribbon microphones are now full again announced after the tubes and vintage hype in recent years and belong to professional engineers for quite some time again for everyday cutlery.

The typical warm, full sound and the soft, subtle highs know immediately transported to please and was immediately released back to a golden age when music still on board and did not sound like permanent white noise. The figure-eight pattern may be a bit of getting used to for beginners though, but sonically opened new paths. The RM-1 makes an excellent overhead mic in front of the guitar amp or as a vocal microphone - but worth it in any case to experiment!
