PreSonus Temblor T8 Powered Studio Subwoofer
High-quality monitors and subwoofers are essential for accurate, satisfying mixing and PreSonus' Eris series are regarded as some of the best affordable studio monitors on the market. Now, through their 'Temblor' range, PreSonus demonstrate that they can make a subwoofer just as great!
The Temblor T8 features a, 8" downward-firing bass driver rated at 200w and is the smaller (and rather different) brother to the 10" front-firing Temblor T10. It is primarily designed to be used alongside PreSonus' Eris E5 monitors - to increase bass depth and frequency response when mixing - but can be used to great success with other brand monitors, such as the KRK RP5, M-Audio BX5, Yamaha HS5 and more.
The Temblor T8 features a glass-composite low-frequency driver with a lightweight and rigid cone for tight and responsive bass. Glass-composite has the added benefit of providing lower distortion than other commonly used materials, ensuring that the sub-bass response of the subwoofer perfectly complements the mix coming from your monitors, rather than overshadowing or muddying it like many other subwoofers tend to do. In fact, the Temblor T8 provides a continuously variable lowpass filter (50 Hz to 130 Hz), allowing you to create a seamless crossover transition between your full-range studio monitors and subwoofer for the most accurate listening environment possible.
Weighing in at 9.6kg, this subwoofer delivers a rich deep bass which is often missing from smaller studio subs. It comes with rubber spikes to stabilise the unit and to provide a degree of sub-frequency isolation.
