Usually, a tuner uses microphone, vibration detection or electric signal to pickup the sound. Electric signal can be only used in electric guitars.
Mic is convenient but suffers from environment noise. Vibration detection needs a pickup clip plug but is more accurate in noisy background which is ideal for loud, chaotic environment. Thus the Tuner adopted both methods for different customer demands.
The tuner has a size larger than other types since it combined Metronome and Rhythm Generator together.
The beat is clear and volume can be turned up to loud. You can set in how many beats a Sharp rings up. And the rhythm generator provides nine styles.
It works by 2 triple-A batteries, and automatically powers off without operations in 5 minutes. The battery is included in package but you have to put it in Tuner by yourself.
Solid construction does not break easily and the foam pad prevent scratches to instrument.
