due to the high commodity price of copper, low-quality CCA cable is very often presented as high-quality speaker cable. In fact, this is partially or completely manufactured from aluminium rather than copper, and only has a copper coating. Conductivity of aluminium, however, is about 50% worse than copper.
With speaker cable, this results in an audible difference in quality between CCA and CU cables.
