On many 60's and 70 recordings you can hear a more characteristic flanging sound that can not be reproduced with a conventional Flangerpedal. Here is the mysterious tape flanging - 2 tape recorders running synchronously with the same recording, then at one of the two tape machines the coil is slowed down with the fingers and you will find the Flanging effect due to frequency cancellations and comb filter effects. A particular special effect is the "Through Zero Flanging", this occurs when the Flanging curve at the top comes to a clearly audible extinction. Catalinbread comes with the Zero Point Flanger in a new way, there are no knobs (with the exception of an internal gain trim) and only a foot button and a foot switch. If the effect unit is activated, the Flangingkurve starts - you take your foot off the button the Flangingkurve drops again. Thus, the effect can be placed very specifically on individual chords or notes!
